Seain is a Hong Kong based artist and illustrator. Her work is vibrant and colourful and exudes human warmth. Seain is making a name for herself internationally and has exhibited in Berlin, Shanghai and Zürich. Her work fits in many settings, from interior and textile design to branding products and large scale murals.
Liu Shiyan, Seain is an artist and illustrator based in Hong Kong. She focuses her practice on intimate relationships and reflection upon the true self. The characters she depicts in her works have simple, smooth shapes and lines, and no facial features. She likes delivering messages through portraying posture and colours, directly offering the viewers an opportunity to reflect on their own relationships and self-identities. Additionally, she also works on collaborative and transdisciplinary projects involving performance and installation with international artists from different arts practice. She explores body movements that trigger relations between people.
