Roberta Verteramo Biography
Roberta is an artist-designer who likes to experiment. She combines different techniques to create bespoke art pieces that do not lose functionality. She plays with dimensions. Her paintings are a unique combination of materials, when the light catches the pieces, the room changes. Her objets d’art explore the rough and the smooth: chiselled bronze paired with the softness of resin surfaces.
Roberta’s work is particularly suited for high-end luxury design. In her lavish artwork, “Jewel Paintings”, canvas is replaced by metals like silver, gold and bronze, skilfully covered with layers of resin mixed with rare pigments and embossed with precious stones. Verteramo interprets her clients’ vision with empathy, passion, and exquisite craftsmanship, taking bespoke luxury to a new artful level.
Interior designer Patricia Urquiolia selected Roberta’s sculpture for the interior of the SD96 by Sanlorenzo Yachts. Her paintings can also be found onboard the BGX 70 by Blue Game Yachts. She has developed a staircase for superyachts made of marble and aluminium, bronze and resin.
She collaborates with Gaetano Pesce New York and Fornasetti Milano, Vandersande design studio Milano. Her projects have been selected by brands including Alessi, Kartell, Fornasetti, Visonnaire Home and ARS Italica.
Her work has been shown at major international art design fairs such as Salone Internationale del Mobile, PAD design and art fair, Decorex and Masterpiece. Her pieces can also be found in private collections.
She is a graduate of the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and Polytechnic University of Fine Arts in Valencia. During her time as the head conservator at the Triennale Design Museum, she had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with Alessandro Mendini, Tomas Maldonado, Frank Gehry and Italo Rota.
